Sometimes we need to ask ourselves what role would the Horn of Africa States play in this twenty first century, when the countries of the region have been growing away from each other over the past hundred and fifty years?

Obviously, there is no easy answer to the question and there are always the pessimists or fake nationalists who would point to the complicated nature of putting back the region together or even discuss sinister motives like one country would be taking over another, based on past unchallenged assertions made by pseudo politicians who were taking the poor people of the region for a ride.

We are all fully aware of the struggle of minorities within larger groups, the bigger clan and the small clan or just simply clan against clan, tribe against tribe and then a country against another and conflicts related to groups attempting to secede from sovereign states or just simply fear, fear that a group or country would swallow another.

We can, however, look into the matter from a different angle and perhaps  be optimistic, as some of my friends remind me from time to time of “my too much of optimism”. Why can we not look into the situation from the point of view of unity in diversity? Too much of negativity has led the region to the current situation, where each country is splintering apart and where there is no trust among the four constituent Horn African States countries or even within each country, where mistrust of the politician has become the norm.

It is good time, we believe, that the formal leaders of the four states sat down together, at least, informally to address the possibilities. The region cannot be without possibilities. It is the nature of things. The leaders should transform the challenges to opportunities. That is, what great men who leave legacies do and have done throughout history. Osman Ertugrul, President Abraham Lincoln, Peter the Great, Queen Elizabeth I, General De Gaulle, President Roosevelt, Bismarck and others, all left their marks and created states and empires that still live today.

Maintaining good relations among the leaders is a necessity to create better relations among people and countries and if the leaders walk away from each other, they ultimately end up at each other’s throats and that is not what the region requires today. The Horn of Africa States needs to settle down, feed the goodness and not the evils within humankind.

No one can undo the past. It is already gone. However, one can shape the future and this is where the leaders of the region should concentrate and, at least, respect each other and have confidence in each other. This is how the governments and the governed populations would relate to each other, and perhaps deal with each other. It is how good times could be created both for themselves and the populations.

The leaders should be looking at the common Horn African States heritage and ways of co-operating to create a conflict free and integrated region that is beneficial to all the constituent countries and their populations.

The populations are looking up to their leaders and expect from them a Horn African States vision for,  at least, the coming years, maybe the next ten years or twenty or thirty. What should the region be like and how do they expect it to be. A leader cannot just be leaving everything to fate and there must be, at least, a goal to achieve. It is how nations whether singly or as groups manage their destinies. We expect Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, President Ismail Omar Guelleh, President Isais Afeworki, and President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud to present to the region and the world how they see their region into the future and different, at least, from the desperate region it presents itself today.

In my blog yesterday, I suggested that as dismal as it is, the 3.3 percent passing rate of the standardized college entrance tests is not the most important story. The most important stories are in the details. Producing averages conceal data points that are critical to inform policy.

The Oromo and Amhara data are particularly important because together they represent more than 50 percent of the population. In addition, since the Oromo tribal land has become the epicenter of tribal extremism, its performance compared to other tribal homelands can shed light on the vagaries of tribalism in the future generation. To make an objective assessment we need to see two separate reports by regions.

-  Regional test results, showing what present of the students got A, B, C, D and F before 2022 and in 2022. It will even be useful to go further and show sub regional data for each tribal homeland.

-  Percent of students who passed the standardized tests year by year before 2022 next to the 2022 results.

 

In the blog, I venture to predict two outcomes:

- Regions where tribal extremism ran rampant will fall near the bottom of the totem pole in the first data set.

- Regions where tribal extremism is normalized will register proportionally less students in the 3.3 percent passing cohort in the 2022 results.

Since my last blog, some regional results have been released. Below is my preliminary assessment. Therefore, it should be taken with circumscription. To form a conclusive assessment, we need the kind of regional details I noted above.

Before going into the regional results, we need to first address issues with population data in Ethiopia. The last credible census data was conducted in 1994. At the time, Amhara accounted for 26 percent of Ethiopia's population and Oromo accounted for 35 percent.

 

The 2007 census was deliberately adulterated by TPLF to reduce the population of Amhara. I say adulterated because I was told by a UN official who was working with the Ethiopian government at the time.

The 2007 census result reduced Amhara’s figure from 25.9 to 23.3 percent of the total population of Ethiopia, while increasing the corresponding figure for Oromo from 35 to 37 percent. The official 2007 census report notes: “The percentage shares for Oromia and Southern People Regions have slightly increased since 1994, whereas the percentage share of the national population in Amhara Region has declined from 25.9 to 23.3 percent.”

Current population figures for 2022 are extrapolated from the 2007 Census results. Amhara’s representation is further reduced from 23.3 percent to 22 percent, whereas Oromo's number is increased to 38 percent. According to the 1994 census data Oromo had 4.9 million more people than Amhara. The 2007 census data shows that Oromo had 9.8 million more people than Amhara. The extrapolated 2022 data shows Oromo has 17.2 million more people than Amhara.

Now let us see how Oromo and Amhara fare in preparing their students for the next generation.

According to the recent high school leaving standardized test results, the top 5 best performing schools in the nation were: One in Addis (Kotebe); three in Amhara (Dessie boarding, Bahirdar STEM, and Gonder Community College) and one in Oromo (Oda boarding school).

The average scores for all subjects by regions are as follows. Addis Ababa (38.46%), Harari (32.88), Dire Dawa (31.42%), Amhara (30.37%), Sidama (28.34), Southern People (28.17), and Oromo (27.96).

Areas who scored better than the national 3.3% average are: Addis (19.8%), Harari (10.5%), Dire Dawa (6.7%), and Amhara (3.6%). Oromo is below the national average (2.0%). This is below Sidama that registered (2.3%).

Another data point is that in natural science there were 263 students who scored 600 or better. Of which, 117 were from Addis, 70 from Amhara and 51 from Oromo. Though Amhara is supposed to have millions of people less than Oromo, Amhara has 35 percent more students performing better in natural science than Oromo. It is safe to assume the school age to total population ratios in the Amhara and Oromo tribal lands are reasonably similar.

Though specific data was not provided for social science, the top performing areas in terms of numbers of students scoring high marks were Addis Ababa, Dire Dawa, Harar, Amhara, and Oromia. Once again, Oromo is behind Amhara. In every publicly available data point Oromo performed worse than Amhara.

I do not believe the remedial program is helpful because it does not address the problem.

All the problems shown above are manifestations of the tribalization of the nation's educational system. You cannot address 12 years of poor educational performance with a one-year college remedial program. The data shows the overall average for Oromo is 27.96%. Amhara at 30.37% is not much better. This means the average students in both tribal lands scored at the lower end of F.

Simply put, the proposed solution is to keep universities open by filling the seats with students who have no reason to be on university campuses. You cannot expect a student with 28% grade to score a passing grade in the remedial program to enter college. A small minority may be able to pull their grades up. The majority will not. This is a well-established phenomenon in international studies. The Ethiopian ministry of education has ample data to test this. How many students who scored below 30% in the first 6th and 8th grade national exams passed it in the next try after repeating the class.

Showing pity to the student victims is not the solution. The focus should be on the tens of million who are in the pipeline. The solution the Ministry of Education provided is a political solution. Time to grab the proverbial bull by the horns.

ለምን ቢሉማ ጭራቅ አሕመድ ሰብሬዋለሁ እያለ ይንቀውና ይዘልፈው የነበረው ያማራ ሕዝብ፣ ሊፋለመው እየመጣበት መሆኑን  በግልጽ ስለተረዳ ነዋ!  የመናቅ ጊዜ አልፏል፡፡  የዘለፋም ጊዜ አልፏል፡፡  ጊዜው የፍልሚያ ጊዜ ነው፡፡ ፍልሚያው ደግሞ ከፍተኛ መስዋዕትነት የሚጠይቅ ቢሆንም፣ የሚደመደመው ግን ያለ ምንም ጥርጥር በጭራቅ አሕመድ ሽንፈት ነው፡፡  ይህ ደግሞ ታሪክ ደጋግሞ የመሰከረው ታሪካዊ ሕቅ ነው፡፡  ማህተማ ጋንዲ የጠቀሰውም ይህንኑ ታሪካዊ ሐቅ ነው፡፡

ጥያቄው አማራን ለማጥፋት ቆርጦ የተነሳው ጭራቅ አሕመድ ባማራ ይሸነፋል አይሸነፍም ሳይሆን፣ አማራ እጅ ሲወድቅ ዕጣው ምን ይሆናል የሚለው ነው፡፡  እንደኔ ከሆነ ደግሞ አማሮችን ባደባባይ አስረሽኖ ዝቅዝቆ ያስሰቀለው ኦነጋዊው አውሬ ጭራቅ አሕመድ በተራው የጁን አግኝቶ የቤኒቶ ሞሶሎኒን (Benito Mussolini)፣ ጭራቁ አማሮችን በበላ ቁጥር በመዝሙር የምታበርታታው፣ ጎንደርን ካማራ ነጥላ አማራን ለማዳከም የበኩሏን የምትጣጣርው ዝናሽ ታያቸው ደግሞ የክላራ ፒታችን (Clara Petacci) ጽዋ መቅመስ አለባቸው፡፡

ከአራት ዓመታት በፊት በኢትዮጵያ ከብዙ ትግልና ሕዝብ እልቂት በኋላ ይሁዳና ጲላጦስ እንጅ ሙሴና ኢያሱ ዳግም አልመጡም ሲባል ብዙዎቻችሁ “የለም ተባህር የወጣውና ፈረኦን ቤት ያደገው ሙሴ ኢያሱን ይዞ ነው የመጣው ብላችሁ በአገር ውስጥና በዉጪ አዳራሹና ሜዳው ጢም እስቲል ሕዝብ ሰብስባችሁ ድስኩር አሰማችሁ፣ አንዳንዶች ምሁራን ተነቦ እማያልቅ የውዳሴ ጽሑፍም በማከታተል ጠለሰማችሁ፣ አስጨፈራችሁ፣ ጨፈራችሁ፣ ፎቷቸውን በከነቴራችሁ ለጥፋችሁ አሻጋሪዎች እያላችሁ እንደ ጣኦት ያመለካችሁም ነበራችሁ፡፡

የተመለኩት ጣኦቶች ለአለፉት አራት ዓመታት ናዚ በአይሁዳውያን ላይ ካደረገው በከፋ ሁኔታ አማራን ሲያስጠርጉና ሲጠርጉ ከርመው ዛሬ ደግሞ ቅዱሱ መጽሐፍ በሚያዝዘው መሰረት ከብዙ ሺ ዓመታ የቤተምኩራብ የኦሪት አምልኮ ወደ ቤተክርስትያን አምልኮ ያደገችውንና ክርስቶስ  ኦሪትን ልፈጥም አንጅ ልሽር አልመጣሁም ባለው መሰረትም ብሉይ ኪዳንን ከአዲስ ኪዳን አዋህዳ የያዘችውን በዓለም ተወዳዳሪ የሌላትን ቤተክርስትያን  የማጥፋት ሰይጣናዊ ተልኳቸውን ተሰማርተዋል፡፡ ቤተ-ክርሲትያኗን ከማጥፋቱ ጎን ለጎንም የኢትዮጵያን የዘመን አቆጣጠር፤ የኢትዮጵያን ፊደላት፣ አማርኛንና ሌሎችንም ሐብቶች በቅኝ ገዥዎች ቅርሶች የመቀየሩ አሳፋሪ ተግባር ይቀጥላል፡፡

የሰይጣን ተከታዮች ይኸንን ሁሉ የአካል፣ የሃይማኖ፣ የባህል፤ የቅርስና የታሪክ ዘር ፍጅት በአማራ ሕዝብ ላይ የሚፈጥሙት የአማራ ምሁራን ከአለፈው ልምድ ትምህርት ወስደውና አሁን እየሆነ ያለውን ተገንዝበው የወደፊቱን በመተንበይ እንኳን ለራሱ ለአፍሪካ ነፃነት የበቃውን ሕዝባቸውን ራሱን እንዲከላከል ስላላነቁትና ስላላደራጁት ነው፡፡

ብአዴን የሚባል የእግር ብረት የታሰረበትና የእግዚአብሔርን አምኖ በገጠረም ሆነ በከተማ የሚኖረው አብዛኛው አማራ  ከትምህርት፣ ከዜና ማሰራጫዎች፣ ከዘሙኑ የእውቀት መገባባያ ጥበባት የተገለለ በመሆኑ ይኸንን ሁሉ  ደባ የሚረዳበትና የሚተነብይበት መንገድ የለውም፡፡

ይኽ ሕዝብ የጪፍጨፋውንም ሆነ የስደቱን መከራ የሚያውቀው ሳያስበው ግፉ እንደ ዶፍ የወረደበት እለት ብቻ ነው፡፡ የዓለምንም ሆነ የአገሪቱን ያለፈና የሁኑን ሁኔታ ተገንዝቦ የወደፊቱን ተንብዮ እድሉ ለሌለው ሕዝብ ማሳወቅና ማደራጀት ያለበት ፊደል የቆጠረው የአማራ ምሁር ብቻ ነው፡፡ በሌላ አነጋገር በአማራ ሕዝብ ለደረሰው የሰላሳ ዓመት የዘር ማጥፋትና ማጥዳት ዘር አጥፊዎቹ ብቻ ሳይሆን የዓለምንና የአገሪቱን ሁኔታ አገናዝበው ያልተነበዩና ሕዝባቸው ራሱን እንዲከላከል ዝግጁ ያላደረጉ የአማራ ምሁራንም በታሪክና በትውልድ ተጠያቂ ናቸው፡፡

የአማራ ምሁራን ሆይ፡- እንደምታውቁት የአማራ ሕዝብ ከእግዚአብሔር ቀጥሎ የእምነት አባቶችን ከእነሱ ቀጥሎም ምሁራንን ያምናል፡፡ በተለይ ከሰላሳ አመታት በፊት የእምነት አባት የተናገረው ሁሉ የእግዚአብሔር ቃል፣ ምሁር የተናገረው ሁሉም እውነትና እውቀት ይመስለው ነበር፡፡ ይኸንን እየተሸረሸረ የመጣውን የእምነት ትስስር የእምነት አባቶችም ሆነ ምሁራኑ እንደገና መገንባት ይኖርባቸዋል፡፡ የእምነት አባቶችም ሆነ ምሁራን በዘሩ ምክንያት በመላ አገሪቱ የሚታረደው የአማራ ነፈሰ-ጡር፣ ህፃን፣ ባልቴት፣ ሽማግሌና ወጣት እንቅልፍ ሊነሳቸውና ሕዝቡ ራሱን የሚከላከልበትን መንገድ መትለም ይጠበቅባቸዋል፡፡

አማራን በጠላትነት የፈረጁ ሌሎች “ምሁራን ነን ባዮች የምድጃ ወሬና ተረት ተረት ወሬ እየተረኩ በመደራጀት አማራን ማጥፋት ተጀመሩ ግማሽ ክፍለ-ዘመን አልፏቸዋል፡፡  አማራ አንገቱ ተቆርጦ መሬት ሲጎተት፣ ቤተክርስቲያንና መስጊድ ሲፀልይ በእሳት ሲቃጠል፣ በአገሩ ውስጥ እየተፈናቀለ እንደ ዘፀአት ሰዎች ሲሰደድና ተሰዶም  ተመንገድ እንኳ እንዳይተኛ ሲከለከል በዓይኗ በብረቷ ያዬ የእምነትም ሆነ የዓለማዊ ትምህርት የአማራ ምሁር  የግማሽ ዘመኑን ግፍ መርምሮና  የሁኑን አጢኖ የወደፊቱን በመተንበይ ሕዝቡን እንደ አሲሪያን ሕዝብ ከመጥፋት ለማዳን እንደለገመ ሕዝቡም አግዚአብሔርም ያውቃል፡፡

ቲሞቲ ስናይደር የተባለ የየል ዩንቨርሲቲ ሊቅ እንደሚያስተምረው ዛሬ እሚታየው ምልክት የነገውን እውነታ ያሳያል*፡፡ ፕሮፌሰር ስናይደር እንደፃፈው ናዚዎች አይሁዳውያንን ለመጨፍጨፍ ሲወጥኑ  እንደ ለገጣፎና ሱሉልታ ገዥዎች በአይሁዶች ግድግዳዎች "አይሁድ በጀርመን ቦታ የለውም" የሚል ምልክት ለቀለቁ፡፡ ይኸንን የተለቀለቀ ምልክት ያነበቡ አይሁድ ምሁራን ግን እንደ ዛሬው አማራ ምሁራን "የጥቂት ጋጠ ወጦች ተግባር!" እያሉ አለፉ፡፡ እንደዚህ እይነቱ ጋጠወጥ ጋጠወጥን ከሚደግፍ ማህበረሰብ ውጪ እንደማይኖር ረሱ፡፡ በዚህ ችልታቸውም አይሁዳንን ሳያስጠነቅቁ በመደዳ አስጨፈጨፉ፡፡

ይህም ቢሆን አይሁዳውያን ተዚያ ስህተታቸው ትምህርት ቀስመው፣ ያለፈውን በሚገባ መርምረው፣ የወደፊቱን እየተነበዩ ራሳቸውን ዳግም ከመጥፋት ለማዳን እየተጉ ይገኛሉ፡፡ አይሁዳውያን በብዙ አገሮች የአይሁዳውያንን ጭፍጨፋ የሚያንፀባርቅ ብዙ ሐውልት ከተጨፈጨፉት ሰዎች ፎቶና ሥም ጋር ገንብተዋል፡፡  ተቆጥሮ የማያልቅ እልቂቱን የሚያንፀባርቅ ተንቀሳቃሽና ተቀማጭ ቅርስ አከማችተዋል፡፡ እንደዚህ አይነቱ ጥበብ ሕዝባቸው ዳግመኛ እንደዚያ አይነት እልቂት ውስጥ እንዳይገባ ይረዳዋል፡፡

በናዚ ዘመን ያለቀው የአይሁዳውያን ቁጥረ ስድስት ሚሊዮን ነበር፡፡ ሆን ተብሎ በማምከን ሳይወለድ የቀረው ተትቶ በአለፉት ሰላሳ ዓመታት ውስጥ በዘሩ ምክንያት የጠፋው የአማራ ሕዝብ በትክክል ቢቆጠር ቢያንስ በናዚ ዘመን የጠፋውን የአይሁድ ቁጥር እጥፍ ይሆናል፡፡ አማራ እንዲህ እየጠፋ የእምነትና የዓለማዊ ትምህርት አማራ ምሁራን ግን አማራ የዘር ፍጅት እየተፈጠመበት ነው ለማለትም ባቄላ እንደጎረሰ ዶሮ ጉረሯቸውን ያንቃቸዋል፡፡  በግልጥ አነጋገር አብዛኛው የአማራ ምሁራን ለእውነታና ለሚያልቀው የአማራ ነፍስ ግድ የሌላቸው ባእዶች ሆነዋል፡፡

የአማራ ምሁራን የበሬ እንትን ይወድቅልኛል ብላ ስትከተል እንደኖረችው ቀበሮ በአጉል ተስፋ መንዘላዘሉን ትተው እውነታውን መቀበል ይኖርባቸዋል፡፡  እንደ አለመታደል አማራ የገጠመው ችግር በዚህ ወይም በሚቀጥለው ትውልድ ብቻ የሚያበቃ አለመሆኑን የአማራ ምሁራን ማጤን ይኖርባቸዋል፡፡ በናዚዎች የተፈጠመው ጭፍጨፋ ለአይሁዳውያን ትምህርት ሆኖ ጠንካራ እንዳደረጋቸው ሁሉ ለሰላሳ ዓመታት በአማራ የተፈጠመው የዘር ፍጁት በኣንድና በሁለት ትውልድ ብቻ የሚያበቃ አለመሆኑን  ተገዝቦና ለአማራ ትልቅ ትምህርት መሆኑን አጢኖ አማራ የበለጠ ጠንካራ በመሆን ከራሱ አልፎ እንደ በፊቱ ለሌሎች የሚተርፍበትን መንገድ መቀየስ ይኖርበታል፡፡

የአማራ ፍጅት የአካል፣ የሃይማኖት፣ የባህል፣ የቅርስ፣ የእውቀት፣ የታሪክና ሌሎች እሴቶች ስለሆነ ሁሉም የሚሳተፍበት የተወሳሰበ ቋሚና ዘላለማዊ  የትግል ዘርፍ ይጠይቃል፡፡  ለመንደርደሪያ ያህልም፡-

፩. የእምነት ምሁራን “እግዚአብሔር ሰውን በአምሳሉ ፈጠረው ከሚለው ትምህት በተጨማሪ  እግዚአብሔር ስውን በአምሳሉ ቢፈጥረውም ከተፈጠ በኃላ ሰይጣን ሊነጥቀውና ዘር አጥፊ ሊያደርገው ስለሚችል  ከዘር አጥፊ ራስን መከላከል የሙሴ የኢያሱና የሌሎችም የእግዚአብሔር ሰዎች የቅድስና ተግባር መሆኑን ማስተማር

፪. መስቀል የተሸከሙ የሃይማኖት የአማራ ምሁራን መስቀል እንደ እስጢፋኖስ ያሉ ምሁራን የተሰውበት የመስዋአትነት ምልክት መሆኑን ማመንና ለመስቀሉ መገዛት

፫.  ዲግሪ አለን የሚሉ ምሁራን ዲግሪቸውን የምግብ መጠቅጠቂያን መንደላቀቂያ ተማድረግ  አሳማዊ  ባህሪ ተላቀው የሕዝባቸውን እልቂት ለማየት አይናቸውንና ጆሮዋቸውን በመክፈት የሰላሳ አመቱን እልቂት በጥናትና በምርምር ለሕዝባቸውና ለዓለም ማሳወቅ

፬. ምሁራን ባዳበሩት እውቀት

ህ. አማራ አሁን ብቻ ሳይሆን ወደፊትም የሚደርስበትን ችግር ከወዲሁ በተለያዬ መንገድ በማስተማር ማንቃት

ለ. አማራ ራሱን ከአካላዊና መንፈሳዊ ዘር ፍጅት ለመከላከል የሚያስችል ጥኑ ድርጅታዊ መዋቅር መዘርጋት

ሐ. በአለፉት ሰላሳ ዓመታትም ሆነ አሁን በዘራቸው የተጨፈጨፉትን፣ የተፈናቀሉትን፣ የተሰደዱትን፣ የተጠለፉትን፣ ሆነ ተብሎ ዩንቨርስቲ እንዳይገቡ የተከለለሉትን በምስል፣ በሥም፣ በእድሜ፣ በፆታና በሌሎችም መስፈርቶች ያካተተ ማህደር ማጠናቀር

መ. በውጪም ሆነ በአገር ቤት ይኸንን ጭፍጨፋ የሚያስታውሱ ማስታውሻዎች መገንባት

ይህ ትንተናና ምክረ ሃሳብ ኢላማ ያደረገው የብልፅግናን ፓርቲ የበላይ አመራር፤ አማካሪዎችና አባላትን ነው። ብትስማሙም፤ ባትስማሙም ለተከታታይ ትውልድ ደህንነትና ለኢትዮጵያ ዘላቂነት ስትሉ ራሳችሁን ገምግሙ፤ ህሊናችሁን ፈትሹ። የመንግሥታችሁ የመጀመሪያ ሃላፊነትና ተጠያቂነት የዜጎችን ደህንነት መታደግ መሆኑን ተቀበሉ።

የኢትዮጵያ ጠቅላይ ሚንስትር ዐብይ አሕመድ ከላይ የጻፉት ትክክል ነው። ህወሃት ሃይማኖትን የፖለቲካ መሳሪያ አድርጎት ነበር።

በተመሳሳይ፤ በአሁኑ ቀውጢ ወቅት፤ ዖነጋዊያን በተቀነባበረ ደረጃ የሚመሩት የኦሮሞ ብልጽግና ፓርቲና አጋሮቹ ለፖለቲካ የበላይነት ሲሉ ልዩ ልዩ ዘዴዎችን አይጠቀሙም ለማለት አልችልም። በተጨማሪ፤ የህዳሴ ግድብ ውዝግብ እስካልተፈታ ድረስ በሴራው የግብፅ ኦርቶዶክስ ተቋም የኢትዮጵያን ኦርቶዶክስ ተቋም መደገፉ እንዳለ ሆኖ፤ የግብጽ መንግሥት ግን በኦርቶዶክሱ ኃይማኖት ክፍፍል ሴራ እንደሌለበት በምን እናውቃለን?

የግብጽ መንግሥት ህወሃትን፤ ኦነጋዊያንና ሌሎችን ጽንፈኞች/ሽብርተኞችና ተገንጣዮች እንደሚደግፍ አልጠራጠርም። ዋናውና መሰረታዊው የኢትዮጵጵያ ችግር ግን የውጭ ሴራ ሳይሆን የውስጥ ዘረኛንት፤ ብሄርተኛነት፤ ወንበዴነት፤ ሌብነት፤ ሙሰኛነትና የአገዛዝ ውድቀት ነው (failed governance)።

የሕዝብ ድምጽ ዘገባ አልተለመደም እንጅ፤ ዛሬ አብዛኛው የኢትዮጵያ ሕዝብ በመንግሥት አመራር ላይ እምነት የለውም። ለዚህ ዋናው ምሳሌ የብልጽግና መንግሥት አመራር ለዜጎች ህይወትና ደህንነት ደንታ ቢስ መሆኑ ነው። ጠቅላይ ሚንስትሩ በቅርቡ የመምህራን ጉባኤ ስለ ዜጎች እልቂት ተደጋጋሚነት ምክንያት ሲጠየቁ “መንግሥት በግድያው ውስጥ የለበትም” ያሉት ማዘናጊያ ብቃትን ሆነ ሃላፊነትን አያሳይም። አንድ መምህር የመንግሥቱን አመራር “ያልበሰለ/ያልጎለመሰ/ያላደገ (immature)” ያሉት ትክክል ነው።

የብልፅግና ፓርቲ 70 ሚሊዮን አባላት ባለው በኦርቶዶክ ሃይማንት ተቋም ላይ በተከሰተው ከፋፍለህ ግዛውና ብላው ስትራተጅ እጁ የለበትም ወይ? የሚለውን ጥያቄ በማያሻማ ደረጃ መመለስ ያለበት ገዢው ፓርቲ፤ በተለይ ጠቅዋላይ ሚንስትሩ ናቸው።

በአንድ አገር ሁለት አይነት መርህ፤ ሁለት አይነት ፍትህ ወዘተ ሊኖር አይችልም። ህወሃትን ተችቶ የኦነጋዊያንን ጽንፈኞች ሴራና ተንኮል ለመካድ ወይንም ለመደበቅ ወይንም ለመሸሽ አይቻልም።

በኦሮሞ የብሄር ጽንፈኞችና ሽብርተኞች ቀስቃሽነት በኦርቶዶክስ ኃይማኖት መርህ (ሲኖድ) ላይ የተካሄደው ክህደትና ውንብድና ትህነግ/ህወሃት ከሰራው ሴራ ሊለይ አይችልም። እንዲያውም የባስ ሊሆን ይችላል። ምክንያቱም፤ ጠቅላይ ሚንስትሩ በመጽሃፋቸው ላይ እንዳስቀመጡት፤ “ምእመኑ ለእምነቱ ቀናዒ ነው።” ራሱን መስዋእት ለማድረግ ይችላል ማለት ነው።

እኔን በባሰ ደርጃ የሚያሳስበኝ ከጀርባው ያለው ሁኔታ ነው። በተገላቢጦሽ ችግሩን የሚያባብሱት ራሳቸው በኦርቶክስ ሃይማኖት በውስጥና በውጭ የተሰገሰጉት “የአማራ ጽንፈኞች ናቸው” የሚለውን አሳዛኝና አሳፋሪ የፈጠራ ትርክት መስማቴ ነው። የዚህ ትርክት ዋና የጥቃት ኢላማ የአማራው ብሄረሰብ መሆኑ አይካድም።

ወደ ኋላ ዞር ብለን ብንመለከት፤ ይህንን የፈጠራ ትርክት ህወሃቶች በተቀነባበረ ደረጃ ያሰራጩት “ትግራይ ጀኖሳይድ፤ ትግራይ ፋሚን፤ ትግራይ ከበባ” የሚለውን ፕሮፓጋንዳ ለመጥቀስ ይቻላል። በተመሳሳይ፤ ኦነጋዊያን ኦርቶዶክስን በሚመለከት ይህንን ሃይማኖት “የሚመሩትና የሚያስተጋቡት ሃበሻዎች ናቸው” የሚለው ከተሰበከ ብዙ አስርት ዓመታት ሆኖታል።

ግጭቱ ከተከሰተ በኋላ ደግሞ ሹክሹክታው ለኢትዮጵያ አለመረጋጋትና በመንግሥት ላይ እምነት እንዳይኖር የሚያደርገው የኦርቶዶክስ አመራር ነው። ይህንን የአማራ ብሄር ጽንፈኞች ምሽግ ለይቶ ማጋለጥ፤ ማስፈራራትና ማሳደድ አስፈላጊ ነው የሚል አደገኛ ስትራተጅ መኖሩ ይነገራል። በበክሌ ይህ እንደማይሆን እመኛለሁ።

የኢትዮጵያ ብልጽግና መንግሥት ከፍተኛ ባለሥልጣናት በኦርቶዶክስ እምነት ላይ የተከሰተውን የመከፋፈል ሴራ ለምን አላወገዙትም? ለምን የማያሻማ እርምጃ አልወሰዱም? የሚለውን መሰረታዊ ጥያቄ ብናስብበት መልካም ነው እላለሁ። ማሰብ ብቻ ግን በቂ አይሆንም። ድጋፋችን የማሳየት ግዴታችን መወጣት አለብን። ድጋፍ ስል ለኦርቶዶክስ አመራር የአንድነት ጥሪና አቋም ሙሉ ድጋፍ እንስጥ ማለቴ ነው።

የኦርቶዶክስ ቤተከርስቲያን የአማራ ጽንፈኞች ምሽግ ናት የሚለው አደገኛና ከፋፋይ ትርክት መሰረት አንድ ነው። ይኼውም፤ የአማራውን ሕዝብ ለመጨፍጨፍና ለማዋረድ ከሚደረገው አጠቃላይ ሴራ የተለየ አለመሆኑ ነው። በአጣየ፤ በደራ፤ በወለጋ፤ በቤኒ ሻንጉል ጉሙዝ (መተከል) ወዘተ የሚካሄደው እልቂትና ውድመት መሰረታዊ ምክንያቱ ምን ሊሆን ይችላል?

ኢላማ የሆነው የአማራው ሕዝብ ከእንቅልፉ ቢነቃ ይሻለዋል። በተለይ፤ በረባ ባልረባው የተከፋፈለው የአማራ ምሁር፤ ሊቀሊቃውንት፤ ሜድያ፤ ጫና ፈጣሪ ነኝ ባይ፤ ዲያስፖራ፤ ስብስብ ወዘተ መቀበል ያለበት ይህ ክፍፍል አማራውን የሚያስጠቃ መሆኑን ነው።

 

 

ሕገ መንግሥቱና የአስተደር መዋቅሩ ጸረ-ፍትህ፤ ጸረ-ዲሞክራሲ ነው።

ዋናው፤ መሰረታዊው ስርአት ወለዱና መዋቅራዊው ችግር የአማራው ብቻ ሳይሆን የኢትዮያም ጭምር ነው። አማራውንና እምነቱን ኢላማ ያደረገው ክስተት፤ ግፍና በደል፤ ዘውጋዊ እልቂት ለምን ተከታታይ ሆነ? ብሎ መጠየቅ አግባብ አለው።

እኔ ይህንን ክስተት የምመለከተው ከሃይማኖት ባሻገር ነው። በኦርቶዶክስ እምነት ላይ ያንዣበበው አደጋ ከተጠነሰሰ ውሎ አድሯል። በኔ ግምገማ ምክንያቶቹ የሚከተሉት ናቸው፤

አንደኛ፤ ኢትዮጱያን በአዲስ መልክ ለመቀየስ፤ ለማዋቀር፤ ለማስተዳደር፤

ሁለተኛ፤ ጥንታዊዋ ኢትዮጵያ የተመሰረተችውና የምትታወቀው በአማራ ብሄረሰብና በመሰረታቸው ተቋማት አማካይነት ነው ተብሎ ስለሚለፈፍ፤ ፈረንጆችም ይህንን ትርክት ይጋራሉ የሚል እምነት ስላለ፤ እንደ ኦርቶዶክስ እምነት፤ እንደ አማርኛ ቋንቋ ያሉትን እሴቶች ሙሉ በሙሉ እንዳልነበሩ ለማድረግና፤

ሶስተኛ፤ የአማራው ብሄረሰብ መሬት አልባ፤ እሴት አልባ፤ ተቋም አልባ፤ አገር አልባ፤ ሽባ እንዲሆን ለማድረግ የሚደረግ የተቀነባበረ ሴራ ነው።

ስለሆነም፤ ትህነግ/ህወሃት የተከተለውን መርህ የኦነግ ጽንፈኞች፤ ብሄርተኞች፤ በተተኪነት የሚያያምኑ ኃይሎች ከሚያደርጉት ሊለይ አይችልም። ይህ ተግዳሮት ለአማራው ሕዝብ ብቻ ስይሆን፤ ለመላው የኢትዮጵያ ሕዝብ አሳሳቢ አደጋ እንደሚሆን መገመት ያስፈልጋል።

ማንነቴ ይከበር የሚለው እንዳለ ሆኖ፤ ግን በማንነት ስም ሕገ ወጥነት፤ ሽብርተኛነት እየነገሱ ይታያል። ባጭሩ፤ እያንዳንዱ ግለሰብ ማንነት እንዳለው/እንዳላት አያከራክርም። አከራካሪው ጉዳይ ግን በማንነት ስም ወይንም ምክንያት ሕገ ወጥነት፤ ተተኪነት፤ የበላይነትና አገር አፍራሽነት ሲነግሱ ዝም ብሎ ከመመልከቱ ላይ ነው። ብልጽግና በበላይይነት የሚመራውን የኢትዮጵያን መንግሥት ለትችት የሚያጋልጠው ይኼው ነው።

ብልጽግናዎች ሌላውን ከመውቀስና ከመተቸት ይልቅ ምን አይነት ስርዓተ መንግሥትና የአመራር ክፍተት ቢኖር ነው የዜጎች ደህንነት፤ ሰላም፤ እርጋታና አብሮነት እየተሸረሸሩ የሄዱት? የሚለውን የመጠየቅ ግዴታ አለባቸው።

 

 

ኦርቶዶክስን ክልላዊ ማድረግ ለምን አስፈለገ? ከጀርባው ማን አለበት?

በዛሬዋ ኢትዮጵያ ጥሩውን እሴትና ተቋም ከመጥፎው ለመለየት የማይቻልበት ሁኔታ በግልጽ ይታያል።

ኢትዮጵያን እንደ ሃገር ድንቃማ ከሚያደርጓት መለያዎች መካከል የኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ እምነትና ይህች ሁሉን አስተናጋጅ የሆነች እምነት ለሶስት ሽህ ዓመታት የሰጠችው የመለያ በረከት ወይንም እሴቶች ናቸው ብል አልሳሳትም። የራሷ የቀን መቁጠሪያ፤ የራሷ ፊደል፤ የራሷ ድንቃማ በዓለት ወዘተ መለያዎች ናቸው። ይህ ለሁሉም ኢትዮጵያዊያን መተኪያ የሌለው መልካም ጎን ነው።

ሰሞኑን የመላው ዓለም ያደነቀውን የጥምቀት፤ የቃና ዘገሊላ እና ሌሎች የደመቁ የክርስትና ተከታዮች በዓላት ስከታተል ተስፋ ያደረግሁት ይህች ጥንታዊ አገር አሁንም ቢሆን ተስፋ አላት የሚል ነበር።

ይህንን የምልበት መሰረታዊ ምክንያት የኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ቤተክርስትያን ለኢትዮጵያ ሉዐላዊነትና አገራዊ ነፃነት የማይካድ ሚና ስላለው ጭምር ነው። ይህንን የቆየ መለያችንን ልክ እንደ ክልል መለያ በዘውግ መከፋፈል ሊያስከትል የሚችለው አደጋ እጅግ በጣም ያሳስበኛል። ኦሮሞውንም፤ ጉራጌውንም፤ ትግራዩንም፤ አኟኩንም፤ ወላይታውንም ወዘተ ሊያስስበውና ሊያስጨንቀው ይገባል።

የሚሰሙ ከሆነ ክፍፍሉ እንዲከሰት ያደረጉትን ግለሰቦች፤ የብልጽግና መሪዎችንና አባላትን የምመክራቸው ሁኔታው ከቁጥጥር ውጭ ከመድረሱ በፊት እውነተኛውን የኦርቶዶክ አመራርንና ያወጣውን አቋም እንዱደግፉ ነው።

በተለይ ኦርቶዶክስን ክደው የወጡትን ወደ እናቷ ቤተከርስቲያን እንዲመለሱ አሳስባለሁ። ለዚህ ስህተትን አምኖ ይቅርታ መጠየቅና ኑዛዜ (Regret and Repent) መግባት ሂደት አርአያ የሆኑትን መጋቢ ሐዲስ አባ ጸጋ ዘአብ አዱኛን እያመሰገንኩ በፖለቲካ ውሳኔ የተሾሙት ጳጳሳት ሁሉ ይቅርታ እንዲጠይቁ አደራ እላለሁ።

 

 

የኢትዮጵያ ሲኖድ አመራር የወሰደውን ጠንካራ አቋም አደንቃለሁ፤ እደግፋለሁ።

የመንግሥት ሜድያ ሚናውን ያስተካክል እላለሁ። የኦርቶዶክስ አመራር ያወጣውን የአቋም መግለጫ የገዢው መንግሥት ሜድያ---Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation..በወቅቱ ሽፋን ለምን እንዳልሰጠው ምንም ሊገባኝ አልቻለም። ሌላው ቢቀር ተቋሙ የሚደገፈው ከሕዝቡ በሚከፈለው ታክስ መሆኑን ዘንግቶታል።

በዚህ አጋጣሚ የኢትዮጵያ ፌደራል መንግሥት ባለሥልጣናት ችግሩን በድርድር ልንፈታው እንችላለን የሚሉትን አቋም እቃወማለሁ።

ምክንያቱም፤ ይህ የሃይማኖት ጉዳይ ስለሆነ ችግሩን ሊፈታው የሚችለው የሲኖዱ አመራር እንጅ የብልጽግና የፖለቲካ መሪዎችና አማካሪዎች ስላልሆኑ ነው።

ስህተት የሰሩት ሁሉ ይቅርታ እንዲጠይቁ መምከር አግባብ አለው። ለድርድር ይቅረቡ የሚለው ግን አፍራሽ ነው። የብልጽግና ፓርቲ አመራር በኢትዮጵያ ሉዐላዊነትና ሕጋዊውን የመንግሥት ስልጣን በኃይል ለማስወገድ ሴራ ቢካሄድ ድርድር እንደማይፈቀድ ሁሉ፤ በኦርቶዶክስ እምነት ላይም ድርድር አድርጉ ማለት ተገቢ አይደለም።

በመጨረሻ ለብልጽግናዎች ለማሳሰብ የምፈልገው ሕገ ወጥነትን፤ ወንበዴነትን፤ ስርአት አልበኝነትን፤ ሌብነትን፤ ሙሰኛነትን፤ ከሃዲነትን፤ የእርስ በእርስ ግጭትን፤ በትምህርት ጥራትና ብቃት የተከሰተውን የወጣቱን ትውልድ መማከንን፤ የኑሮ ውድነትን ለመቆጣጠር ካልቻላችሁ ሚናችሁ ምንድን ነው? የሚለውን ጥያቄ እንድትመልሱልኝ ነው።

 

ኢትዮጵያ ለዘላለም ትኑር!

ሕግና ፍትህ ይከበሩ!

ዘረኝነትና ብሄርተኝነት ይቁም!

The world only sees a Horn of Africa region devasted by famines, droughts and civil strives and all the paraphernalia that generally describe failed states, hopelessness, tribal and clan pseudo competitions over nothing. No one discusses or sees the Horn of Africa States and its possible impact on world issues and most particularly great power competitions. The poor Horn African is presented as being busy on how to take revenge on his neighbor or the other clan/tribe nearby or those who claim to preside over nations, when they preside over literally nothing, not even their palaces. The picture provided to the world is truly and gargantuanly horrible so much so that the Horn of African is literally frozen dead and is unable to move in any direction. The Horn African, across the globe, knows that there is a problem but is yet unable to pinpoint the trouble and the source of the trouble. Is the region as described, really or is there a different picture that is not reported, deliberately, because it would irk some others?

The Horn of Africa States is, indeed, in trouble, they say, on a daily basis and graphically. A child with a big belly and flies around his/her eyes, a mother  almost reduced to bones with hollow cheeks and barely covered and yet carrying a skeletal baby on her hips and looking at the camera taking the picture with those hollowed sunken eyes dull and weary, a dead carcass of an animal, a camel perhaps or a cow and bones sticking out. The message is repeated and repeated, and it ultimately becomes the truth. That is the “truth” of the Horn of Africa States as presented to the world daily.

Even those who live in the region and know otherwise begin to believe this falsehood and fake news. It is true that there are problems and hunger in some parts of the region from time to time, but it is far more different than those horrible messages that have become the narrative on the Horn of Africa States. There are a hundred and sixty million people in the Horn of Africa States and they produce food for themselves and others.

The region provides health care services and education for its youthful population. The region owns and enjoys major ports and other means of world class transportation services such as air transportation. It enjoys and maintains efficient telecommunications systems that are much cheaper, affordable, and better than many countries of the world. The region also enjoys a banking and financial management system that is almost cashless, where people are on the digital landscape far ahead of many so-called developed countries. Of course, one has to define what a developed nation is. It is not really only the buildings and roads and perhaps the clothes one wears.

We read regular reports on insecurities and dangers to life in the Horn of Africa States, but it is more peaceful than many countries where mass shootings occur on a daily basis. Indeed, there are bombs in some cities like those of Mogadishu, but does that represent the whole of the Horn of Africa States, an area of some two million square kilometres. One should go to Hargeisa, where money changers maintain large stocks of currencies in the street and no one bothers them or Djibouti, where many women are sitting near big buildings also providing exchange services and hence carrying lots of money in their big bags and no one robs them. And, of course, there is Addis Ababa, one of the most peaceful capital cities in the world, and Asmara. We never hear of mass shootings, burglaries, and other mauvaise issues in the region in the region, but it is presented by the international media in an unacceptably horrible manor. And it is, time that the region, started to work on reversing the process. The leader class of the region, do play a major role in the continuing propagation of absolute propaganda in the region, but they are only shooting themselves in the feet.

Should the region present itself in the media through movies and films or paid articles and  sometimes paid tourism for major travel shows? There are many things the region can do, but it is up to the leaders and the those responsible for tourism and image of the region to revisit their tools and oil them and resharpen them.

The Foreign ministers of the region have not done their jobs either. Are they waiting for their presidents and prime ministers only to guide them on what to do? It is their job and not the job of the presidents or prime ministers to repaint the region on its truly peaceful nature and that it is a place to live in, visit and enjoy, as much as it was in the cradle of humankind when they found that the region was endowed with all the atouts of life-giving facilities – good weather, plenty of food, seas and oceans and mountains and rivers and beautiful valleys and plains.

The world does not know the region. It is on the onus of the region to sell itself to the world and correct the great misunderstanding that the region is truly a horrible place to be. That is far from the truth. The region is full of good people, some of them highly educated and world class and others that constitute the majority as normal as any society anywhere can be.
